Ugh!

I miss blogging!
Unfortunately when it rains it pours in regards to our electronics.
I now have a shiny new camera...
and a computer that won't charge :(

I'm on my last ounce of battery right now.
I'll be back soon though.
June is bound to be better!

Good things.

We got a new camera. Yay! Hopefully now I can get Gigi caught back up on her daily Lily fix ;)

The Lowry Farmers' Market  is coming SOON! Saturday June 2 is the first market and Sugar Mama will be there with muffins, scones, cupcakes and cookies!

I just ordered a darling banner for my market booth from Heather (CMhandmade). I'm soooooooo excited! I considered attempting to make my own... but I'm so glad I found Heather instead :) I can't wait to see it!

Also these cupcake wrappers are the sweetest! I'm getting some :)

Good good things. What's good with you?

We're Baaaaaaack!

So we're finally back from 9 days in Missouri with my fam.
It was an awesome visit but it's always so good to be back :)
I loved being unplugged for an entire week too!!
Here are a few things we did last week...
(PS- I can't take credit for ANY of these amazing pictures... They're all courtesy of Yellow Feather Photography. If you live in Denver you should call Beth for pictures. For sure.)

(Made a foot print stepping stone for my mom's garden for mother's day.)

(Pretended to be a super cool family band.)

(Played washers and drank beer. Ah.. summer!)

(Entertained the greatest baby in the world while my baby brother graduated.)

(Made cupcakes of course!)

(There he is. The graduate and the reason the whole trip happened. Isn't he handsome?!)

It was a wonderful trip and now I'm excited to get back to Sugar Mama Bakeshop!
I'll be baking & planning for the farmer's market for the next couple weeks.
Happy Monday!

Healthy Breakfast Bars

Luckily Lily let me sleep until FIVE:30 today!
Maybe you're confused that I put 5:30 AM and LUCKY in the same sentence?
Well, compared to my wake up call at the crack of 4:30 every day the past 2 weeks I'm feeling great :)
Which means I woke up ready to bake... before the coffee was even done!

(I try to be upset about our new morning routine, but this face is impossible to be mad at... and I think she already know it.)

By the way, many of you probably never knew me before I was a mama,
but for those of you who did... 5:30 A.M and I'm jumping for joy and full of energy???
Mamahood is weird. That's all I've got to say about that.

Something you might just be interested in:
The recipe for these way-too-delicious-to-be-as-healthy-as-they-really-are breakfast bars.

(They're not much to look at but they really are tasty and FILLING.)

We're in the process of cutting WAY back on sugar around here.
I know. You're soooo surprised that we eat way way way too many sweets at my house...
Seeing as I post about cookies, cupcakes, or cakes every other day.
But I believe it's becoming a problem.
As in, we do not have enough money to replace our entire wardrobes if we get too fat for our clothes.
Aaaaanyway.
These are totes sugar free, with just a dash of agave.
Lily loooooves them.
Hunter and I love that they have no oil or butter and they're still really tasty (and super filling).
Also they're really quick to whip up so go ahead!

Healthy Breakfast Bars
(My recipe is a modified version of this one, which my sis-in-law made the other day and won me over with.)

1 1/2 cups quick cooking oats
2 TBSP agave nectar
1 teaspoon baking powder
1/2 teaspoon sea salt
1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
1 teaspoon vanilla extract
1/4 cup+ 2 TB plain soy or coconut milk
1/4 cup flax meal + 3 TB warm water
1 1/2  large mashed bananas (3/4 cup)
1/4 cup peanut butter (we love crunchy)

Preheat oven to 350 degrees F.
Combine flax + water and let set a few minutes until "goopy".

Mix together the quick cooking oats, baking powder, kosher salt and ground cinnamon.
Add in the vanilla extract, milk and flax "egg" and agave. Mix the ingredients together.
Then add in the mashed banana and peanut butter. Combine all of the ingredients.
Pour the mixture into a lightly greased 8 by 8 inch metal baking pan.

Bake for 20 minutes.
Cut into squares and enjoy!

Awkward City

I did it!
I sent an audition tape to Cupcake Wars.
I'm awkward city.
Seriously, watch this vid and you will feel 10 times cooler.
But I don't mind :)
I'm just really excited that I actually did it!

You can laugh at me.
I'm not offended :)
Enjoy it my friends!
